The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) addresses fundamental issues of economic, social, racial, and environmental justice and works with people to achieve economic independence.

CVOEO provides individuals and families with the basic needs of food, fuel and housing support in times of crisis, and helps them acquire the necessary education, financial skills and assets to build a stable future in which they thrive.
KING STREET CENTER

Mission: To create a place where kids meet opportunity through learning, play, and community.
Today: King Street Center serves approximately 120 children and teens each day. Programs include a Toddler and Preschool program for 1-5 year-olds; an Afterschool program for children in grades K through 5; Teen Program our innovative program for middle and high school students; an evening drop-in program for teens; several mentoring programs for children of all ages; and much more.
SARA HOLBROOK COMMUNITY CENTER

The Sara Holbrook Community Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to develop responsible and productive children, youth, and families through social development, education and recreational opportunities. SHCC serves students and families from Chittenden County, with a large percentage of participants coming from the North End of Burlington.
​
Since 1937, the Center has continued to adapt its programs to changing needs. With those changing needs, we have expanded to annually serve 1500 individuals, including immigrant and refugee populations, who attend the Center's events and use the Center's programs including Early Education within our toddler and preschool classrooms, after school care for elementary school students, elementary school-age summer camp, teen programs, youth adventure camp, year-round middle school enrichment classes, English classes for adults and children, and emergency food assistance for the greater Burlington community.
